Hey, I’m Alex!

I’m a mom to lots of kiddos (3 of my own, but we are also a foster family, so right now I have 5 ranging in age from 2 to 15). My wife and I live on a farm in a small town in the Pacific Northwest with donkeys, goats, loads of poultry, and too many dogs and cats.

I’m obsessed with my local library and thrift stores, always on the hunt for new reads or hidden gems from the past. That’s what Thrifted Pages is all about—sharing my love for books and thrifting, along with a few life updates thrown in (and maybe a recipe or 2).

When it comes to books, I’m drawn to stories that stick with you. I love horror that makes you sleep with the lights on, LGBTQIA2S+ stories that center queer joy, literary fiction that explores the human condition, speculative fiction that stretches the boundaries of imagination, and timeless classics that shaped the literary world.

I also review books on NetGalley, where I love diving into upcoming releases and sharing my thoughts with fellow readers, and have done a bit of sensitivity reading.

I’ve been homeschooling my own kiddos for six years now, and we’ve got a pretty relaxed approach —think mostly unschooling, where we let their natural curiosity lead the way. When I’m not wrangling kids or animals, you’ll probably find me baking too many muffins, drinking all the coffee, or curled up with a good book.

Thanks for stopping by! I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you find something to inspire your next read!
